A REAL Fellowship Meal
Everyone needs a well-balanced diet of food and exercise. WHAT WILL BE SERVED? The “milk
and meat” of the word (Heb 5:12-14). WHAT KIND OF EXERCISE? We will “exercise ourselves
unto godliness” (1 Tim 4:7,8). WHO IS INVITED? All “who hunger and thirst after righteousness”
(Mt 5:6). “You shall be filled.” WHY? To learn how to have fellowship with God and His children
(1 Jn 1:6,7). And, “that ye may grow thereby” (1 Pet 2:2; 2 Pet 3:18). WHERE? In the auditorium
where we assemble to hear God’s word and worship Him. This is the only authorized
“fellowship hall” (Heb 10:25).
“You mean there is no literal food involved, only the gospel???” Careful how you speak of
heaven’s message and the only hope for mankind! Jesus is the “bread of life” and salvation is
the “water of life” (Jn 6:48; 4:14; Rev 22:17). The “fellowship” we are to have is never used in
Scripture to refer to banquets but always to spiritual matters.
You can “trim down” (Heb 12:1) and “tone up” (1 Tim 4:8). DOCTOR’S ORDERS! The Great
Physician knows what is best for your heart (Lk 5:31; 4:23). PROGNOSIS? Good spiritual health!
Never thirst or hunger (Jn 4:14; Rev 7:16). -db

Beheld their beauty, glowing?
God has garbed them in a glory
Not even Solomon’s could dim.
They speak for His creation;
They testify of Him.

Our Heavenly Father feeds them;
He keeps them in His care.

But it’s known in heaven above.
He’s here – He’s there – He’s everywhere
Pouring out His love.
Though our faith sometimes is little;

Still, He feeds and clothes and shelters;
He provides for all our needs.
Shouldn’t we, then, seek His kingdom
And in Him place our trust?
